South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies has urged Vale residents to shop local this weekend – as Small Business Saturday takes place across the UK.
Small Business Saturday is a grassroots campaign – and takes place on the first Saturday in December – traditionally the busiest shopping day in the year.
Customers across the UK are urged to go out and support all types of small businesses – both online and in stores.
Mr Davies has also issued a special plea to people to support their local high streets – particularly after Cowbridge picked up the “Rising Star for Wales” prize at the Great British High Street Awards.
Mr Davies said, “Small Business Saturday is now in its 6th year – and is a fantastic campaign to show our support to the SMEs that make up the lifeblood of our economy.
“Our high streets are huge assets to our communities in the Vale – including in Barry, Penarth, Llantwit and Cowbridge – which was recently and deservedly crowned a rising star in Wales.
“But sadly it’s very much a case of use it or lose it – so join me this Saturday in shopping local and helping small and medium sized businesses survive and thrive.”
