A local photographer’s latest charity exhibition – “Dragons Warriors” – showcasing images of last year’s Homeless World Cup, has been praised by South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies.
The collection, by Rhoose-based Nigel Whitbread, is currently on display at Foxy’s Deli on Victoria Road in Penarth.
The title “Dragons Warriors – Dreidiau Rufelwyr” is taken from Welsh actor Michael Sheen’s passionate speech at the competition’s opening ceremony, held in Cardiff last summer.
Funds raised from the collection will be used to highlight the issue of homelessness, and to charities associated with the project. A Crowdfund page is currently operating where people can make contributions.
The exhibition will be on display in Penarth until 26th February, before embarking on a tour of South Wales.
Mr Davies said, “It was a privilege to have the opportunity to see Nigel’s exhibition, which not only showcases some inspiring images from last year’s Homeless World Cup, but also highlights the issue of homelessness more generally.
“It is fantastic local people have had the opportunity to pop into Foxy’s Deli to take a look, and that the collection will now be touring South Wales.
“The monies raised will go directly towards combatting homelessness, and I’d like to thank Nigel for taking the time to meet and explain the project.”
