A lack of commercial office space in the Vale is presenting difficulties for local businesses seeking to expand – South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies has said.
Mr Davies claimed that as businesses seek to take on more staff and widen their operations – they inevitably need larger premises to enable them to do so.
He recently visited Capital Network Solutions in Barry – an IT network services provider – who are in the process of taking the step up from a small-medium to medium-large sized business.
Sarah Edwards – the company’s managing director – was this year named among the Top Ten Women in Welsh Tech – while they were also awarded top business in the community 2017 by the Prince’s Trust.
Mr Davies said it was vital such businesses were able to remain in the Vale long term – and not be forced to look elsewhere for alternative premises as their operations enlarge.
Mr Davies said, “Here in the Vale – we are very fortunate to have a number of up and coming businesses – who are clearly going from strength to strength.
“Among them is Capital Network Solutions – and it was a pleasure to visit them last week and meet with Sarah and her team.
“They have exciting plans to expand the business and take huge steps forward – and employ more and more people.
“We therefore need to do all we can to keep them in the Vale – and make sure all the opportunities they need are on their doorstep.
“That’s why providing a good variety of commercial premises is key – to enable businesses of all sizes to set up and stay here.”
