Mal's 870-mile expedition for Amelia Trust

The Education and Site Manager of Amelia Trust Farm in Barry is set to travel the entire Welsh coastline in a bid to raise 10,000 for the charity.

Mal Sanchez-Jones joined the farm in September 2002 – and has overseen many changes during that time.

He now hopes to raise further awareness of the farm’s work – while also raising the money needed for its latest animal housing project.

Starting in Prestatyn on Monday 20th August – Mal will attempt to cycle north coast – before walking the south coastline.

The Welsh coastline is 870 miles in its entirety – and ahead of setting off – South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies visited Amelia Trust to wish Mal luck on his voyage.

Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to visit Amelia Trust Farm last week and chat with Mal about his challenge.

“The charity does a lot of great work in Barry and the Vale – and it is vital they continues in future.

“The Welsh coastline is some 870 miles in length – so this is not something to take lightly. I wish Mal the very best of luck – and would urge you to join me in supporting him.”
