Representatives from across the Vale of Glamorgan have united in Cowbridge to launch a dementia friendly service in the town.
The launch of Dementia Friendly Cowbridge took place on Friday 25th May at Cowbridge Town Hall –and the service will provide support and information for people living with dementia and their carers.
Those present included Vale MP Alun Cairns, South Wales Central AMs Andrew RT Davies and David Melding and Cowbridge with Llanblethian Mayor Terry Williams.
South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies paid tribute to the service – and said he believed it would prove invaluable for those affected by dementia in the area.
Mr Davies said, “Sadly – more and more people are affected by dementia – and that includes both sufferers themselves as well as their families.
“It is therefore vital people get the support they need – and it is the heart of the community where it is often needed most.
“Dementia Friendly Cowbridge will be a fantastic service – and it was a pleasure to be invited to the launch. I have no doubts many people will find it hugely beneficial – and I look forward to offering my support in the months ahead.”
