South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies has praised the Hare & Hounds in Aberthin – after it was recognised in the Good Food Guide 2019.
The pub – run by Head Chef Tom Watts-Jones and General Manager Alex Howells – picked up the prize for best local restaurant in Wales.
It is the latest in a long line of accolades they have received – including Michelin’s prestigious Bib Gourmand.
As well as serving vegetables grown in their own site garden – they pride themselves on supporting local produce – and sourcing their meat from local farmers.
Mr Davies said, “The Hare & Hounds is undoubtedly a huge asset to Aberthin and the wider area – and it is fantastic to see them pick up yet another award.
“They are an incredibly community-spirited establishment – serving up the finest local produce from the Vale.
“They fully deserve to be named best local restaurant in Wales – and I’d like to send my warmest congratulations to Tom, Alex and the whole team.”
