South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies has welcomed the news that two leading breast cancer charities are set to merge.
From April 2019 – Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now will operate as one organisation – in a bid to pool their resources and beat the disease.
Each year in Wales – nearly 3,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer – with 500 losing their lives.
Both charities aim that by 2050 – all those diagnosed will survive.
Mr Davies said, “It is fantastic news that Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now – the two leading breast cancer charities in the UK – are set to merge.
“Initiatives such as “wear it pink” are always great fun to participate in – and also raise a lot of money and awareness.
“This will only be enhanced by the merger – and the message is clear. We need to take the fight to cancer and together we will beat it.”
