Davies "wears it pink" for breast cancer

South Wales Central AM and Breast Cancer Now Ambassador Andrew RT Davies has once again joined in the fun for the charity’s “Wear It Pink” fundraiser.

Since it was launched in 2002 – the annual event has raised over £30million for breast cancer research – and this year it will take place on Friday 20th October.

To launch the campaign – Mr Davies joined Mike and Jules Peters of Welsh rock band The Alarm in adding more than a splash of pink to his outfit.

Mr Davies said, “Every year – 2,600 women in Wales are diagnosed with breast cancer – and Wear It Pink is a great way to both increase awareness and raise funds as we take the fight to this awful disease.

“I’m certainly not averse to adding a bit of colour to my wardrobe – and I hope you all join me in doing so on October 20th.

“Please give generously and together we will beat cancer.”

Jules Peters said, “Wear It Pink is a fun way to raise money for an important cause which is close to my heart.

“Having been through breast cancer myself, I am passionate about making sure women like me are diagnosed quickly, receive the best possible treatment and ultimately come out the other side.

“That’s why I’m asking people across Wales to join me in dressing up in pink on Wear It Pink Day and donating to Breast Cancer Now’s research. I hope lots of people across Wales take part!”
