Davies demands urgent Cowbridge road safety measures

South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies has demanded action at a “well known Cowbridge danger spot” after a resident was hit by a car.

In May last year, Mr Davies met with residents of The Limes, to call for road safety measures to be installed following a number of near misses on the junction with Eastgate.

The resident who initiated the meeting was Julia Evans – but no action has been taken.

On Boxing Day, Mrs Evans was hit by a car on the junction, suffering minor injuries.

Mr Davies said this demonstrated the urgent need for action, and has written to the Council demand it before a more serious accident occurs.

Mr Davies said, “Residents have been demanding action to deal with the speed issues on The Limes for some time, and the dangers were clear when I visited last May.

“Over six months’ on, nothing has been done, and on Boxing Day our fears were realised when Julia was hit by a car.

“I have written to the Vale Council to demand urgent action before someone suffers more serious injuries on the junction.”
