South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies paid a visit to Penarth-based charity Challenge Wales last week – to congratulate the team following another summer of success.
The charity’s work focuses on its two vessels – Challenge Wales and Adventure Wales – and focuses on providing young people with the opportunity to develop their life skills and improve their employment prospects.
Between June and September - the vessels sailed over 4,000 miles – providing young people from across Wales with voyages to destinations including Norway, Sweden, Finland, Poland and Amsterdam.
The team gave Mr Davies a tour of Challenge Wales – their flagship vessel – before discussing their exciting plans for the future.
Mr Davies said, “It was a pleasure to climb aboard Challenge Wales and hear about the exciting work that took place over the summer months.
“Between June and September – they sailed over 4,000 miles across the globe – providing life broadening experiences for many young people from across Wales.
“I’d like to thank the team for welcoming me aboard – and have no doubts next summer will be even more productive.”
