AM seeks residents' views on store plans

South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies has urged residents of two Vale towns to make their views known – after discount supermarket chain Lidl announced plans to open new stores in the area.

Under company plans to have over 1,000 UK stores by 2022 – branches could be set to open in Cowbridge and Llantwit Major.

Pointing out the importance that businesses, community groups and residents are fully on board – Mr Davies has urged people to contact him to let him know their views.

Mr Davies said, “When supermarkets announce plans to open in an area – it is vital the community supports the proposals.

“I would therefore be keen to know what residents and businesses think of any plans for Lidl to open in Cowbridge or Llantwit – and whether they think it would be of benefit.

“Please do get in touch and let me know what you think – it is vital everyone is properly consulted – and nothing should go ahead without the community on board.”
