Action required on Lavernock car park

Local residents have demanded that action must be taken to deal with anti-social behaviour at Fort Road Car Park, Lavernock.

There have been considerable issues at the car park, including problems with littering and fly-tipping, as well as cars performing handbrake turns.

There have also been other reported instances of anti-social behaviour which have not been addressed.

At the request of residents, South Wales Central AM Andrew RT Davies visited the car park, and met with David Roberts – Clerk of Sully and Lavernock Community Council.

Mr Davies agreed that the situation was unacceptable – and has written to the Welsh Government, who own the car park, asking for them to visit the site and take action to deal with the problem.

Mr Davies said, “Residents are clearly unhappy with the situation at Fort Road Car Park – and having seen the litter for myself, I completely understand why.

“I have therefore written to the Cabinet Secretary, Ken Skates – asking for him or his officials to meet me on site – so that we can discuss how to sort it out.

“It is unacceptable that local people should have to put up with such behaviour – and it is vital something is done.”
